Anca joined elringtons’ Litigation team in November 2014. Prior to joining elringtons, Anca worked at the ACT Human Rights Commission as an Intake and Review Officer. In that role, she provided ad hoc assistance in relation to Commission’s services and other ACT government agencies. She also advised clients in relation to discrimination and bullying and harassment claims. An important part of her role was to review complaints made against health services providers in the ACT.
Employment law is one of Anca’s interests. The experience gained while working at the Commission dealing with discrimination and/or bullying and harassments complaints, assists Anca in understanding in detail employment matters that may raise such issues. Anca advises employees as well as employers in relation to unfair dismissal, redundancy, termination of employment, bullying and harassment at work place, conflict of interest, restraint of trade, enterprise agreements and any other matters relating to employment law.
Anca is also passionate about court work and has appeared in most courts in the ACT and NSW in a variety of matters. However, Anca takes a commercial approach and if a matter has prospects to settled outside the court room, Anca will advise her clients of such possibility.
Anca receives instructions to prosecute matters in ACT and NSW on behalf of government agencies and other local authorities.
Anca’s practice includes:
Commercial litigation (property, contracts, general insurance disputes)
Debt recovery matters
Personal Injuries (motor vehicle accident claims, work injuries, medical negligence, public and occupational liability) in ACT and NSW jurisdiction
Administrative law claims in the ACT and NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal
Apprehended Violence Orders and Personal Protection Orders
