Wills and Estate Planning

Are your wishes for your estate clearly understood?

Will Preparation

A Will is a legal document which states who will receive your property, money and possessions when you die.  If you have a good, valid Will you give yourself the best chance of making sure your assets will go where you want them to and also to people who are dependent on you.

Many people think that it is easy to make a Will and that they can do it themselves, how ever a will is a legal document and must comply with all State and Territory legislation.

If there is a problem with a Will and it is found to be invalid then your wishes may not be carried out. It may also lead to delay, uncertainty and additional stress to the family at a time of bereavement and disruption at home. Elringtons will make sure that your will is properly drafted, signed, witnessed and complete.

Estate Planning

Planning your estate and its future distribution is one of the greatest acts of consideration that many of us contemplate. With an Estate Plan you have the comfort of knowing that your wishes regarding your estate are clearly spelled out and understood.
Many people are surprised to learn that estate planning encompasses much more than writing a will. Estate planning involves not only asset distribution but may also include:

Choosing your executor who will carry out your directions
Succession for business arrangements
Consideration of previous relationships, defacto and blended families
Management of tax liabilities and probate
Arrangements for incapacity or illness
