Jessica is a compassionate, pragmatic and experienced lawyer dedicated to supporting clients through difficult times. She has a depth of family law experience as a solicitor and as a former Judge’s Associate. She holds a Masters of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Family Law and serves on the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association Committee. Jessica minimises stress for clients by providing tailored advice and resolving disputes by agreement where possible. She has appeared as a solicitor advocate and instructed counsel in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Division 1 (Original and Appellate Jurisdiction) and Division 2, ACT Supreme Court & ACT Court of Appeal (Adoption related matters) and the ACT Children’s Court. She has successfully run applications for Recovery orders, Family Law Watch list orders, Commonwealth Information Orders, change of residence, sole parental responsibility (now known as sole decision-making responsibility), professionally supervised time between the children and other parent or suspension of time, urgent injunctions (including freezing accounts and for the personal protection of parents and children), spousal maintenance, parentage testing and other parenting and property related orders. Jessica is experienced in working with complex parenting matters where there are allegations of family violence, mental health concerns, parental alienation and substance misuse and has complex family law property experience including matters involving overseas assets.
