Temporary access changes — Monaro Street construction

March — September 2026
Monaro Street Refresh — road closure
Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council has begun the Monaro Street Refresh project, which will involve road works and upgrades along Monaro Street over the coming months.
Our office remains open and operating as normal, however access to the building may change during construction.
What this means for your visit
Road Access & Parking
- Monaro Street will be closed to vehicles during construction.
- Street parking on Monaro Street will not be available.
- Please allow additional travel time and use nearby public car parks where possible.
Pedestrian Access
- Pedestrian access along Monaro Street will remain available during parts of the project.
- However, as construction progresses, there may be periods when pedestrian access to our front entrance is temporarily restricted.
Rear Entrance Access
- If the front entrance via Monaro Street becomes unavailable, clients will need to enter via our rear entrance.
- Please refer to the map provided on this page showing:
- The location of our rear entrance
- The access road behind the building
- The nearest public car park
We recommend allowing extra time for parking and locating the appropriate entry point during the construction period.
We appreciate your patience while these improvements are being completed and thank you for continuing to support businesses on Monaro Street.
Project timing
- 12 March Road closures and traffic changes begin
- 17 March Construction starts
- Works are expected to continue for approximately six months
If you have any questions before your appointment, please contact our team and we’ll be happy to help.
